MOTION
Upon recommendation of Cheryl Porter, Chief Operating Officer - Water and Field Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Contract No. GLWA-CON-253 Change Order No. 1 "Springwells Water Treatment Plant Reservoir Fill Line Improvements" with Ric-man Construction, Inc., at a cost not to exceed $4,270,500.00 with an increased duration of 410 days for a total contract duration of 860 days; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.



BACKGROUND
The reservoir fill line improvements at the Springwells Water Treatment Plant (Springwells) is a predecessor project for construction of the physical improvements to the Springwells raw water tunnel to be performed under another GLWA contract (Contract No. DB-150 "Design Build/Repair for Portions of the Pennsylvania, Springwells and Northeast Raw Water Tunnels"). Construction of the reservoir fill line at Springwells will allow its reservoirs to be filled from Water Works Park and Southwest. This will allow the Springwells reservoirs and high-lift pump station to remain in service if the raw water supply to Springwells is interrupted.
