MOTION
Upon recommendation of Cheryl Porter, Chief Operating Officer - Water and Field Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Contract No. GLWA-CON-109 Change Order No. 2 "Emergency Refurbishment of Storm Pumps 5 and 7, Upgrade of Pump 5 and Motor Control Center Upgrade for Eight Storm Pumps for Freud Sanitary Pump Station" with Lakeshore Global Corporation, at a cost not to exceed $4,850,573.93 and for an increased duration of 365 days for a total contract duration of 1,156 days; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
The Freud Sanitary Pump Station (SPS) was originally built in 1956 as a storm water pump station. The Freud SPS has eight large storm water pumps with a capacity of 290 million gallons per day (MGD) each. In addition, there are two smaller pumps rated at a capacity of 13 and 25 MGD each.
