MOTION

 

Upon recommendation of David W. Jones, General Counsel, the Board of Directors of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), hereby moves for the following: (1) approval of an Easement Agreement between GLWA and Sharonville Enterprises, LLC, property owner of the property located at 12501 Sanders Street, Detroit, Michigan 48217; and (2) authorization for the Chief Executive Officer to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote. 

 

JUSTIFICATION

 

GLWA must acquire this easement, which is located on the property owned by Sharonville Enterprises, LLC. This property is needed for the Northwest Interceptor to Oakwood CSO Sewer project. Without this purchase agreement, GLWA cannot move forward with the project cost-effectively.

 

BUDGET IMPACT

 

Property acquisitions were included in the Northwest Interceptor to Oakwood CSO Sewer project budget.

 

COMMITTEE REVIEW

 

This matter was presented to the Legal Committee at its meeting on April 24, 2024. The Legal Committee unanimously recommended that the GLWA Board adopt the resolution as presented.

 

SHARED SERVICES IMPACT

 

This request does not impact the Shared Services Agreement between GLWA and DWSD.
