RE:                     GREAT LAKES WATER AUTHORITY RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK 2026

 

MOTION

 

Upon recommendation of Jordie Kramer, Chief Organizational Development Officer, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), Approves the attached Resolution recognizing National Apprenticeship Week 2026; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

BACKGROUND

April 26 through May 2, 2026, marks the 12th anniversary of National Apprenticeship Week. This annual event raises awareness of the vital role Registered Apprenticeships provide in meeting critical industry workforce demands.

 

JUSTIFICATION

GLWA utilizes registered Apprenticeship programs to help develop its highly skilled workforce and to create pathways for in-demand, high-paying careers.

This item does not impact the FY 26 budget.

COMMITTEE REVIEW

This item is presented directly to the full Board.

SHARED SERVICES IMPACT

This item does not impact the shared services agreement between GLWA and DWSD.
