RE: Permanent Easement Agreement between GLWA and Wolverine Broach Co., Inc., property owner of the property commonly known as: Vacant - Executive Drive, Harrison Twp., Michigan 48045, part of Tax Parcel No. 11-13-228-004

MOTION

Upon recommendation and opinion of Suzanne R. Coffey, Chief Executive Officer, and David W. Jones, General Counsel, the Board of Directors for the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), moves for the following:

(1) approval and execution of a Permanent Easement for Water Main between GLWA and Wolverine Broach Co., Inc., property owner of the property commonly known as: Vacant - Executive Drive, Harrison Twp., Michigan 48045, part of Tax Parcel No. 11-13-228-004; and
(2) authorizes the Chief Executive Officer to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

JUSTIFICATION
DWSD constructed the existing 42" water main at this location on or about 1994 but a permanent easement was not obtained at that time. GLWA is correcting this oversight because the City of Mt. Clemens is in the process of connecting to the GLWA water system at this location on the 42" water main. Without this permanent easement, Mt. Clemens cannot move forward with their project to connect to the GLWA water system.
BUDGET IMPACT
Summary: The proposed acquisition of this permanent easement was not anticipated during the development of the FY 2026 budget. A budget amendment will be required for this acquisition.
