MOTION
Upon recommendation of William M. Wolfson, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Requisition No. 2304181/REQ-0000021, "Environmental Health and Safety Compliance Services" with NTH Consultants, Ltd., at a cost not to exceed $2,000,000.00 for a duration of two (2) years; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
GLWA's Enterprise Risk Management Safety area is committed to continuously improve environmental health and safety at GLWA and to increase environmental/occupational health and safety awareness for all GLWA employees, visitors, contractors and the communities surrounding our facilities.
The current environmental safety contract (Contract No. 2002946) has expired. The contract was for $2 million over two years (average of $1,000,000.00 per year). There were two one-year extensions added to Contract No. 2002946 for time only with no increase in funds. At the end of the contract period, the spend was less than $800,000.00 over the four-year period ($1.2 million favorable variance).
This new contract will offer similar "as-needed" assistance not only for emergency environmental cleanup but also environmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The vendor will provide GLWA with:
