MOTION
Upon recommendation of Navid Mehram, Chief Operating Officer - Wastewater Operating Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Contract No. 1904337, Proposed Amendment No. 3, "WRRF PS-2 Bar Racks Replacements and Grit Collection System Improvements" with Hazen and Sawyer, at an increased cost of $5,386,323.63 for a total cost not to exceed $17,189,612.01 and an increased duration of 132 days for a total duration of 2,535 days; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
GLWA contracted the engineering firm of Hazen and Sawyer in October 2020 to perform planning, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction services for the Pump Station-2 Bar Racks Replacements and Grit Collection System Improvements (PS2RG) project.
Project improvements include:
* Replacing the existing bar screens with new screens that have narrower openings.
* Replacing the existing screenings conveyor belt with a sluicing trough flowing to dual drum screen and compactors.
