RE:                                          Purchase of 662 Conner, Detroit, Michigan

MOTION

 

Upon recommendation of David W. Jones, General Counsel, and William M. Wolfson, Deputy CEO, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes, consistent with an attorney-client communication previously supplied, the General Counsel and CEO to negotiate, finalize, and report to the Board regarding the purchase and purchase price of 662 Conner, Detroit, Michigan; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote. 

BACKGROUND

The Board has received a confidential attorney-client communication regarding the above-referenced purchase.

 

 

JUSTIFICATION

The purchase of this property is necessary for GLWA’s Freud and Connors Creek Station Improvement Project.

BUDGET IMPACT

The proposed property purchase, if finalized, is within the budget for this project included in the approved 2024 - 2029 Capital Improvement Plan.  In addition, the project is funded with bond proceeds as presented in the GLWA Quarterly Capital Improvement Plan Cash Flow report. 

COMMITTEE REVIEW

This matter is being presented directly to the GLWA Board of Directors. 

SHARED SERVICES IMPACT

This item does not impact the shared services agreement between GLWA and DWSD.
