MOTION
Upon recommendation of Cheryl Porter, Chief Operating Officer - Water and Field Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Contract No. 2001488, Proposed Change Order No. 1, "7 Mile/Nevada Transmission Renewal Project" with Pullman SST, Inc., at an increased cost of $93,000.00 for a total cost not to exceed $13,036,129.29 and no increase in duration for a total duration of 1,128 days; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.


BACKGROUND
The 7 Mile/Nevada transmission system is located in the northern part of the City of Detroit and is approximately 7.4 miles in length. Pressures on the transmission main range from 50 to 70 psi. Limited record drawing information indicates the pipeline was constructed generally between 1920 and 1930 and is constructed of 2.9 miles of longitudinal welded steel pipe with riveted joints and 4.5 miles of lock bar steel pipe. The 7 Mile/Nevada Transmission Main Renewal Project (Contract No. 2001488) is a progressive design build contract that includes inspection, design, and renewal of segments of this main.
