MOTION

 

The Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), requests the opportunity on April 29, 2022, to interview the GLWA candidates for GLWA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) indicated on the attached list; and authorizes the Chief Administrative and Compliance Officer and General Counsel to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

 

BACKGROUND

GLWA’s Board of Directors selects the utility’s CEO. The Board has embarked on a selection process for this position. At this time, the Board has determined to conduct interviews with certain candidates for the CEO position as reflected on the attached list.

 

 

JUSTIFICATION

Article 13, A. of GLWA’s Articles of Incorporation provides in pertinent part, “The Board shall appoint and fix the compensation of a chief executive officer for the Authority.” Scheduling interviews of certain candidates for the CEO’s position will assist the Board in fulfilling this responsibility.

BUDGET IMPACT

The CEO’s position has been included in the FY2022-23 Budget adopted by the Board.

COMMITTEE REVIEW

This matter is being presented directly to the Board.

SHARED SERVICES IMPACT

This item does not impact the shared services agreement between GLWA and DWSD.
