MOTION
Upon recommendation of Cheryl Porter, Chief Operating Officer - Water and Field Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Interim Chief Executive Officer (ICEO) to enter into Contract No. 2002655 Proposed Amendment No. 1 "Study and Design Services for Northwest Interceptor Relief Sewer to Oakwood CSO Facility" with FK Engineering Associates, at an increased cost of $96,480.00 for a total cost not to exceed $5,695,936.00, with no increase in time for a total duration of 1,886 days; and authorizes the ICEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.


BACKGROUND
The Northwest Interceptor/Oakwood District Relief Sewer Connector Project was developed as part of the Wastewater Master Plan (WWMP) to maximize the use of existing facilities to treat the wet weather flows. The Oakwood CSO Retention Basin is underutilized, and this project will study, design, and oversee construction of a tunnel to send excess wet weather flows from the Northwest Interceptor (NWI) to the Oakwood basin.
