RE:                     Purchase Agreement for 5181 East Outer Drive (New Breakthrough International Church)

MOTION

Upon recommendation and opinion of Randal M. Brown, General Counsel, the Board of Directors (Board) for the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA):  (1) approves  a Purchase Agreement of 5181 East Outer Drive between GLWA and New Breakthrough International Church; and (2) authorizes the Chief Executive Officer to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote, including the execution of the Purchase Agreement.

JUSTIFICATION

For the repurposing of the Northeast Water Treatment Plant, GLWA needs to acquire this property to stage and install a new watermain to convey water from Water Works Park to the Northeast Water Treatment Plant.  Without the acquisition of the property, GLWA would have to expend more money than the Purchase Price to stage and reroute a new watermain around this property. After the repurposing of the Northeast Water Treatment Plant is complete, this property may be retained by GLWA for storing materials or sold.

BUDGET IMPACT

Land acquisitions were included in the budget for the Northeast Water Treatment Plant Repurposing Project.
