MOTION
Upon recommendation of Navid Mehram, Chief Operating Officer - Wastewater, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Contract No. PC-796 Change Order 2, "Aeration System Improvements" with Weiss Construction Company, LLC, at a cost not to exceed $15,835,000.00 for an increased duration of 90 days for a total contract length of 990 days; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.


BACKGROUND
On October 3, 2016, Great Lakes Water Authority awarded this contract to rehabilitate and upgrade the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) aeration system to Weiss Construction Company, LLC. The scope of work includes the replacement of process piping, magnetic flow meters, valves, sluice gates and actuators, and variable frequency drives (VFD), as well as miscellaneous architectural, structural, HVAC, electrical and instrumentation controls components.

The original contract length was 720 days with required substantial and final completion dates of July 25, 2018 and September 24, 2018, respectively. Through Change Order No.1 the contract length was increased by 180 days revising the substantial and final completion dates to January 21, 2019 and March 23, 2019 respectively.
