MOTION
Upon recommendation of Cheryl Porter, Chief Operating Officer - Water and Field Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Contract No. WS-681 Proposed Change Order No. 1 (Final) "42-Inch Parallel Water Main in 24 Mile Road, Romeo Plank to Rochester Station" with Ric-man Detroit, Inc., at a cost decrease of $2,277,853.80 and a contract length increase of 993 calendar days for a total contract duration of 1,909 calendar days; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.



BACKGROUND
Contract No. WS-681 involved the construction of approximately 35,332 linear feet (6.7 miles) of 42-inch diameter water transmission main and 527 linear feet (0.1 miles) of 36-inch diameter water transmission main along 24 Mile Road between Romeo Plank Road and the Rochester Station in Macomb County, Michigan.
JUSTIFICATION
This change order provides the additional contract time to (1) secure all final waivers from the contractor's subcontractors and suppliers, (2) to secure releases from Michigan Department of Transportation and the Macomb County Department of Roads permit, and (3) to obtain a credit back to GLWA for the unused contract al...
