MOTION
Upon recommendation of Suzanne Coffey, Chief Planning Officer, Interim Chief Operating Officer - Wastewater, The Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Contract No. PC-796 Change Order No. 1, "Aeration System Improvements" with Weiss Construction Company, LLC, at a decreased cost of $150,000.00 and an increased contract length of 180 days for both the Substantial Completion date and Final Completion date for a total contract duration of 900 days, and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.




BACKGROUND

On October 3, 2016, Great Lakes Water Authority awarded this contract to rehabilitate and upgrade the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) aeration system. The scope of work includes the replacement of process piping, magnetic flow meters, valves, sluice gates and actuators, and variable frequency drives (VFD), as well as miscellaneous architectural, structural, HVAC, electrical and instrumentation controls components.

The original required substantial and final completion dates of the project are July 25, 2018 and September 24, 2018, respectively.
