RE: Safety National Mutual Waiver of Claims
MOTION
Upon recommendation and opinion of Randal Brown, General Counsel, the Board of Directors (Board) for the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA); authorizes GLWA’s General Counsel, in consultation with GLWA’s insurance broker, AON Risk Services, to take appropriate and necessary actions for the resolution of any and all claims with Safety National, GLWA’s casualty insurer, and other related matters of mutual concern; and authorizes the Chief Executive Officer and the General Counsel to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
The Background and Justification for the proposed strategic authorization has been discussed with the Board in Closed Session.
BUDGET IMPACT
To the extent there are expenses associated with this authorization, those expenses are within levels and programs authorized as a part of the GLWA’s budget.

This matter was taken directly to the Full Board.
