MOTION
Upon recommendation of Nicolette Bateson, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer, The Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), receives and files the Presentation: Great Lakes Water Authority Recognized as Michigan Public Purchasing Officers Association (MPPOA) 2018 Agency of the Year; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
The GLWA Procurement Group has implemented significant transformational change since GLWA’s operational effective date on January 1, 2016. Recognizing the benefit of sharing successes and lessons learned with their colleagues, the GLWA submitted an application for MPPOA Agency of the Year as a venue to share that information and to receive feedback. That application is attached.
On Thursday, October 4, 2018, GLWA was recognized as the MPPOA Agency of the Year at the annual MPPOA conference.
Mr. Boysie Jackson, MPPOA President and City of Detroit Chief Procurement Officer, will be in attendance at the GLWA Board Meeting on October 10, 2018 to present this award to the Board and to recognize the efforts of the GLWA Procurement Group and the cross-functional participation of all GLWA team members to support effective procurement.
