MOTION
Upon recommendation of Navid Mehram, Chief Operating Officer - Wastewater Operating Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Contract No. 2103688/SCN-0000204, Proposed Change Order No. 1, "Rehabilitation of Connors Creek Sewer System" with Oscar Renda Contracting, Inc., with no increase in cost, for a total cost not to exceed $49,576,196.00 and an increased duration of 643 days for a total duration of 1,484 days; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
The GLWA portion of the Connors Creek Sewer System (CCSS) starts at 8 Mile Road west of Van Dyke Avenue and ends at Conner and Jefferson at the Conner Creek Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) basin. It starts out as a single arch pipe, eventually transitioning to a three (3) barrel box culvert, and then to a five (5) box culvert section where the Conner Creek Pump Station and Freud Pump Station combine just upstream of the Conner Creek CSO Facility. The total length of the CCSS is over 60,000 linear feet of pipe. The CCSS is a combined sewer with a large water shed that is influenced greatly by rain and snow melt, and system flow balancing.
