RE: Amendment No. 3 to Legal Services Contract GLWA-LS-295 (Dickinson Wright)
MOTION
Upon recommendation and opinion of Randal M. Brown, General Counsel, the Board of Directors (Board) for the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA):
(1) Approves Amendment No. 3 to Legal Services Contract GLWA-LS-295 with Dickinson Wright; and
(2) Authorizes the Chief Executive Officer to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote, including the execution of Amendment No. 3 to Legal Services Contract GLWA-LS-295.
JUSTIFICATION
GLWA retained Dickinson Wright to provide legal advice on the Lease Agreements and financing, bonds and debt issuance. This amendment extends the time only until March 31, 2025.
BUDGET IMPACT
There are sufficient funds allocated in the General Counsel’s budget for the continuation of Dickinson Wright’s services.
COMMITTEE REVIEW
This matter is being presented to the Legal Committee at its meeting on February 22, 2023. The Legal Committee unanimously recommended that the GLWA Board adopt the resolution as presented.
SHARED SERVICES IMPACT
This request does not impact the Shared Services Agreement between GLWA and DWSD.
