MOTION
Upon recommendation of Navid Mehram, Chief Operating Officer - Wastewater Operating Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Requisition No. REQ-0009296, "Facilities Maintenance Services - Skilled Trades" with LGC Global, Inc., at a cost not to exceed $37,973,179.40 for a duration of three (3) years; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
GLWA maintains and operates a regional wastewater collection and treatment system consisting of, in relevant part, the Water Resource Recovery Facility (formerly known as the Wastewater Treatment Plant) and nine (9) Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Facilities, pumping stations and a complex network of collection systems throughout its service area. Maintenance tasks routinely arise that are of a specialized nature or exceed the capacity of GLWA's current staffing. GLWA requires the assistance of a third party with the technical ability, expertise, capacity, manpower, tools, and machinery to complete the maintenance tasks in a timely and cost-effective manner. The skilled trades required to complete the work include millwrights, plumbers, electricians, laborers, carpenters, painters, construction equipment operators, and other trades as may be necessary.
