RE: Authorization to Accept Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) from the Water Utility Energy Challenge
MOTION

Upon recommendation of William M. Wolfson, Chief Administrative and Compliance Officer, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes, on behalf of GLWA, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to accept and the GLWA Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer (CFO) to deposit an award of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) received by GLWA for Best Pilot Demonstration as a participant of the Water Utility Energy Challenge (the "Challenge"); and authorizes the CEO and CFO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
On May 21, 2018, GLWA received an award and a check for $2,000.00 on behalf of the GLWA team at the Lake Huron Water Plant for Best Pilot Demonstration as a participant of the Challenge. The purpose of the Challenge was to reduce energy related pollution emissions in the Great Lakes Basin. American Water Works Association and Wayne State University sponsored the Challenge and the Great Lakes Protection Fund funded it.

JUSTIFICATION
Board approval is requested so that this gift may be appropriately deposited in the GLWA's accounts.
BUDGET IMPACT
The acceptance of this award is within the FY 2019 budgeted amount for miscellaneous revenue.
COMMITTEE REVIEW
This matter was raised with the Board as a part of the CEO's Report during its July 25, 2018 meeting and is being presented directly to the Board for disposition.
