MOTION
Upon recommendation of Cheryl Porter, Chief Operating Officer - Water and Field Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Contract No. PO-1005275, Proposed Change Order No. 1 "Lake Huron WTP Flocculator Improvements" with Philadelphia Mixing Solutions, LLC, at a cost not to exceed $2,102,806.96 for an increased duration of 123 days for a total duration of 487 days; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
GLWA issued Emergency PO-1005275 for direct purchase of rapid mix equipment for the Lake Huron Water Treatment Plant (LHWTP). GLWA elected to direct purchase this equipment to expedite its delivery and installation to meet an agreement with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) to provide an increased velocity gradient in the rapid mixing process at the LHWTP. This PO supplies mixing equipment, motors, local starters, and variable frequency drives (VFDs); all equipment except the VFDs were to be provided on an expedited basis.
