MOTION
Upon recommendation of Navid Mehram, Chief Operating Officer - Wastewater Operating Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Requisition No. REQ-0006337, "Sodium Hypochlorite" with JCI Jones Chemicals, Inc., and Requisition Nos. REQ-0006980, and REQ-0006981, "Sodium Hypochlorite" with PVS Nolwood Chemicals, Inc., at a cost not to exceed $2,898,502.00 for a duration of one (1) year with two (2) one (1) year renewal options at a cost not to exceed $2,898,502.00 for each renewal year for a total contract amount of $8,695,506.00; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

BACKGROUND
Sodium Hypochlorite is used as the primary disinfectant at all nine Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Facilities, and Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) during wet weather operations. Disinfection is the final step in wastewater treatment and a regulatory requirement by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. Sodium Hypochlorite is also used by Water Operations to control zebra mussels at the Belle Isle Intake Facility.
JUSTIFICATION
The current contract for the supply of Sodium Hypochlorite to GLWA facilities will expire on December 31, 2025. To maintain compliance with the GLWA NPDES permit requirements, it is essential to ensure a reliable and continuous supply of Sodium Hypochlorite for effect...
