MOTION
Upon recommendation of Navid Mehram, Chief Operating Officer - Wastewater Operating Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Requisition No. 0001210, "Conner Creek Pump Station Storm Water Pump Replacements" with Kokosing Industrial, Inc., at a cost not to exceed $35,360,000.00 for a duration of 1,349 days; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.


BACKGROUND
The Conner Creek Storm Pump Station was constructed in the 1920's and has a firm pumping capacity of 2.2 billion gallons per day. The two (2) 14-foot diameter East and West Jefferson Relief Sewers convey both sanitary (i.e. dry weather) and storm water (i.e. wet weather) flows to the pump station. During wet weather, if flow exceeds the adjacent Conner Creek Sanitary Pump Station, the Conner Creek Storm Pump Station is activated to pump the excess flow to the Conner Creek Combined Sewer Overflow Facility. The operation of the Conner Creek Storm Pump Station is critical to help prevent flooding in the Eastern portion of our service area.
