RE:                     Purchase of Permanent Easement Necessary for the Northwest Interceptor to Oakwood CSO (NOCSOS) Project - Detroit, Michigan

MOTION

 

Upon recommendation of David W. Jones, General Counsel, and William M. Wolfson, Deputy CEO, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the purchase of a Permanent Easement from Great Lakes Petroleum Terminal LLC, necessary for the NOCSOS Project; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote. 

BACKGROUND

The Board has received a confidential attorney-client communication regarding the above-referenced purchase.

 

 

JUSTIFICATION

The purchase of this property is necessary for GLWA’s Northwest Interceptor to Oakwood CSO (NOCSOS) Project.

BUDGET IMPACT

The proposed Permanent Easement purchase, if finalized, is within the budget for this project included in the approved 2024 - 2029 capital improvement plan.  In addition, the project is funded with bond proceeds as presented in the GLWA Quarterly Capital Improvement Plan Cash Flow report.

This matter was reviewed by the Legal Committee at its meeting on June 25, 2025. 

SHARED SERVICES IMPACT

This item does not impact the shared services agreement between GLWA and DWSD.
