RE:                     Purchase of Property Necessary for the Concord and Nevada Control Valve Project

 

MOTION

Upon recommendation of David W. Jones, General Counsel, and William M. Wolfson, Deputy CEO, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the purchase of 6764 E Nevada, Detroit, Michigan 48234 for the Concord and Nevada Control Valve Project; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote. 

BACKGROUND

The Board has received a confidential attorney-client communication regarding the above-referenced purchase.

JUSTIFICATION

The purchase of this property is necessary for GLWA’s Concord and Nevada Control Valve Project.

BUDGET IMPACT

The proposed property purchase, if finalized, is within the budget for this project included in the approved 2024 – 2029 capital improvement plan. 

COMMITTEE REVIEW

This matter is being presented to the Legal Committee at its meeting on August 27, 2025. 

SHARED SERVICES IMPACT

This item does not impact the shared services agreement between GLWA and DWSD.
