MOTION
Upon recommendation of Navid Mehram, Chief Operating Officer - Wastewater Operating Services, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enter into Contract No. 1803542/SCN-0000063, Proposed Amendment No. 6, "Rehabilitation of Ferric Chloride Feed System at PS-1 and Complex B Sludge Lines" with Hazen & Sawyer with no increase in cost for a total cost not to exceed $2,322,045.00 and an increased duration of 183 days, for a total duration of 2,415 days; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
The main objective of the Hazen & Sawyer contract was to design a new Ferric Chloride feed system that allows operations to effectively manage the phosphorus that enters the plant. The final design optimized the system by originating the Ferric Chloride feed system in Pump Station 2 (PS-2) while also feeding PS-1 via a new chemical feed line installed in the pipe gallery at the Water Resource Recovery Facility.
