RE:                     Purchase of Property Necessary for the Northwest Interceptor to Oakwood CSO (NOCSOS) Project - Detroit, Michigan

MOTION

 

Upon recommendation of David W. Jones, General Counsel, and William M. Wolfson, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors (Board) of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), authorizes the purchase of seventeen (17) parcels along Liddesdale and Pleasant streets in the City of Detroit necessary for the NOCSOS Project; and authorizes the CEO to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote. 

BACKGROUND

The Board has received a confidential attorney-client communication regarding the above-referenced purchase.

 

JUSTIFICATION

The purchase of this property is necessary for GLWA’s Northwest Interceptor to Oakwood CSO (NOCSOS) Project.

BUDGET IMPACT

The proposed property purchase, if finalized. is within the budget for this project included in the approved 2024 - 2029 capital improvement plan.  In addition, the project is funded with bond proceeds as presented in the GLWA Quarterly Capital Improvement Plan Cash Flow report.

This matter was reviewed by the Legal Committee at its meeting on April 23, 2025. 

SHARED SERVICES IMPACT

This item does not impact the shared services agreement between GLWA and DWSD.
