MOTION
Upon recommendation and opinion of Suzanne R. Coffey, Chief Executive Officer, and David W. Jones, General Counsel, the Board of Directors for the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), moves for the following:
(1) approval of a Permanent Easement Agreement between GLWA and Marathon Petroleum Company LP, property owner, execution of the Permanent Easement Agreement, for the fifteen (15) properties located in the City of Detroit, County of Wayne, State of Michigan, as described below:

(2) authorizes the Chief Executive Officer to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
JUSTIFICATION
GLWA must acquire these permanent easements because GLWA needs access to these properties for the Northwest Interceptor to Oakwood CSO Sewer project. Without this Permanent Easement Agreement, GLWA cannot move forward with the project.
BUDGET IMPACT
Property acquisitions were included in the Northwest Interceptor to Oakwood CSO Sewer project budget.
COMMITTEE REVIEW
This matter was presented to the Legal Committee at its meeting on October 23, 2024. The Legal Committee unanimously recommended that the GLWA Board adopt the resolution as presented.
SHARED SERVICES IMPACT
This request does not impact the Shared Services Agreement between GLWA and DWSD.
